City-wide forum held to discuss plans to buy casino

Davenport city officials are encouraging residents to attend a city wide forum regarding the plans to purchase the Rhythm City Casino.

The city wide forum will be held Monday, October 22nd at the Adler Theatre, 136 West Third Street, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.

The Davenport Council announced their plans to buy the Rhythm City Casino so it can build a land based casino and details of the 46 million dollar buyout were discussed at last week’s city council meeting and will be voted on in this Wednesday, October 24th meeting.

Each ward had an individual meeting as well.  In addition to the city wide forum, wards 6,7, and 8 will be held Monday night.

6th and 7th Ward – Monday, October 22nd: Adler Health Education Center (located in the lower level of the Genesis Heart Institute), 1236 Rusholme Street, 6pm

8th Ward – Monday, October 22nd: Wood Intermediate School Cafeteria, 5701 N. Division Street, 7pm
