Rock Island County authorities said a man’s body found in a rural part of the county is that of a man reported missing in October.

Chad Stowell, 42, was last seen at his Milan, Illinois home Sunday, October 21.  Police said Stowell was despondent when he left the house.

A deceased man was found in the general area of Stowell’s home November 1, 2012.  Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department Captain Steve Ven Huizen said the discovery led the department to re-classify the case as a death investigation.

“The case is not suspicious in nature,” Ven Huizen said.
