(WHO-TV) – School officials in southwest Iowa are investigating an allegation of a controversial form of discipline by an elementary teacher.
Parents are speaking out against a music teacher at Shenandoah Community Schools.
The teacher allegedly told students to spit on a child that was making a distracting noise. Parents say the teacher had nearly all the children in the class spit on a boy one by one.
“We realize bullying is a problem. Kids are being, you know, a lot of kids bully each other, you know, they should not have to be…bullied by their teacher,” says parent Cory Casteel.
Casteel says his own daughter was forced to spit on the student.
The school isn’t commenting on the case.
