Iowa offers driver’s license records now online

You can now get a certified abstract of you Iowa driving record online.

The Iowa Department of Transportation now offers you the ability to view your Iowa driving history for free.  A certified abstract of your driver’s record, which includes your personal information and your driving history, costs $7. 

Insurers and employers sometimes require certified copies of your driving record.

In addition to copies of your records, you can use the website to get electronic reminders when it’s nearly time to renew your license. 

The DOT says the myMVD website is secure and ensures you can only access your driving record. 

You’ll still have to visit a license office in person to update or renew your drivers and vehicle licenses.
