Representatives from the United States Postal Service will meet with Buffalo residents Wednesday at 6 pm at the Buffalo Post Office about a possible closure or reduced hours.

Buffalo is one of over 100 communities in Iowa and over 13,000 nationwide to meet with the United States Postal Service this month.  They will be discussing reduced window hours for the small town post offices, which is an effort to cut their deficit and still keep the offices open.

Residents are encouraged to bring their completed letters and surveys sent out earlier by the USPS.

Currently the post office workers have 8 hour shifts but there are talks that it may be slashed to six or less depending on the work load and need.
