Police said they found a 40-year-old man in an alley after he was reportedly assaulted in Burlington, Iowa.
Bryan Cannon was found in the alley in the 1500 block of Mt. Pleasant Street just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012. He suffered head and neck injuries in an apparent assault.
Cannon was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to an Iowa City hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Police said they arrested 37-year-old Damien Dukes of Burlington on October 16. Dukes was initially charged with felony assault.
Dukes was held without bond in the Des Moines County Jail.
