Kellogg’s is voluntarily recalling some packages of frosted and unfrosted Mini-Wheats cereals after a faulty manufacturing part may have allowed metal mesh fragments into the cereal.

The affected cereals were distributed at grocery retailers nationwide.

“Kellogg Company has initiated a voluntary recall due to the possible presence of fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part,” said a statement on the Kellogg’s website.

The website also stated the company is working with its metal detector supplier to investigate “why the equipment did not detect the mesh fragments.”

Company officials are asking consumers with the affected products or with questions to contact them online or by calling 1-800-962-1413 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Friday.

The recall includes these Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size cereals:
