Police said a woman died when her car was hit by an asphalt truck north of West Chester, Iowa.

Police said a woman died when her car was hit by an asphalt truck north of West Chester, Iowa.

The crash was reported just after 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012. It happened in the 1900 block of 190th Street.

The crash report from Iowa State Police said Paula Marie Lampe, 57, of Keota, Iowa was eastbound on 190th Street when a westbound Norris Asphalt truck made a left turn and hit her car head-on.  Lampe was taken by helicopter ambulance to a hospital in Iowa City, where she was later pronounced dead.  Police said she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Police said Danny Noble, 56, of New London, Iowa was the asphalt truck driver.  He was also wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.  Noble was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in the crash.

Police said charges were pending in connection with the crash.
