President Barack Obama is returning to Iowa on Wednesday, October 17th, 2012.
During his ninth trip to Iowa in 2012, Obama was scheduled to speak on the lawn at Armstrong Hall at Cornell College in Mount Vernon. The event was moved indoors to Richard and Norma Small Multi-Sport Center because of concerns for possible inclement weather, according to Obama campaign officials.
Doors open at 9:15 a.m. and the event starts at 11:45 a.m.
Campaign officials said the event is free and open to the public but tickets are required to get into the venue. Tickets became available at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 14. Campaign officials announced all tickets were distributed and no more were available by about 11 a.m. Monday.
Campaign officials said Mr. Obama will head to Ohio later that day and then travel to New Hampshire on Thursday.
Taking his place in Iowa on Thursday, October 18th, 2012 will be rocker Bruce Springsteen. "The Boss" will perform in Ames in support of Obama's re-election campaign. Tickets are available starting October 16 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Central time at all OFA Iowa offices and at the Iowa State University Free Speech Zone. The appearance is part of what the Obama campaign calls #CampusTakeover Week. CampusTakeover is an effort to encourage younger voters to participate in the upcoming election.
