Governor Pat Quinn made a stop in front of Ryan’s Family Steak House in Moline today to announced that $47 million dollars in funding will be headed our way to expand John Deere Road in Moline.

The 47 million dollars will be used to widen the popular road from 4 lanes to 6 lanes.  The widening project will take place from 38th – 70th Street and will also include an overpass at 38th Street.

The project is a part of a 5 year, 9.2 billion dollar Illinois Department of Transportation multi-modal program.  The money that will be allotted for this John Deere Road project is a part of the 621 million designated for district 2, which includes Rock Island, Henry, and Whiteside counties as well as 7 others.

The project is expected to be started in Spring 2013 and could take up to 3 years.
