On Monday, October 8, a very noticeable odor similar to natural gas was detected at the Pavilion 1 of Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.

Although there was not an official evacuation, many of the employees evacuated the building because they were nauseous.  Several employees felt reported feeling sick and went outside or went home.

Four patients waiting to receive radiation treatment was postponed to another time.

Davenport Fire was called and ran monitors in Pavilion 1.  They did not find levels of natural gas at unusual levels.

This is the third report of this kind in recent months. Monday’s odor was also reported by other buildings in West and Northwest Davenport.
