Rock Island Police looking for clues in gas station robbery

Police in Rock Island are looking for clues today in a gas station robbery.

It happened on Monday, October 8th shortly after 2pm at the Shell Gas Station located at 2739 11st in Rock Island.

Rock Island Police were dispatched to the scene and quickly blocked off the area surrounding the station. Police were seen dusting for fingerprints and canine units were seen behind the store trying to track a scent.

Early reports have come in that the canine units have found some of the money allegedly taken during the robbery. Police say a black male got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. They are not releasing any more information at this time.
