The City of Rock Island is providing free collection of fall leaves for city residents starting Monday, October 8, 2012.

Residents who are customers of the city’s residential refuse service can get free bags for the leaves at City Hall and other locations listed below.  You can also use your own approved paper yard waste bags.

You do not have to participate in the city’s Yard Waste Subscription Service to use this free leaf collection service.  No sticker is needed on bags left curbside as part of the free leaf pickup service.  Bags should be put out on your usual trash collection day, and a separate truck will pick up the leaf bags.

The free pickup will be available through Friday, November 30.
