It's one of the biggest walks of its kind in the country.

The 41st Annual Quad Cities CROP Hunger Walk took place in Davenport and Rock Island on Sunday, October 7th.

Members of different faiths came together to alleviate hunger locally and around the world.

Last year's walk raised $60,000, which makes our area's walk one of the largest in the nation.

"Over a thousand walks nationwide and the Quad Cities was number 16 for 2011," says Anne Wachal with Churches United. "So that's a huge statement on how many people show up here and how much money is raised."

A quarter of the money raised goes to organizations in the Quad Cities that deal with hunger. The rest of the proceeds go to to areas of need or those struck by natural disasters around the world.
