Rock Island convenience store robbed

Police said a man grabbed the open cash drawer from a clerk at a Rock Island convenience store.

It happened Thursday, October 4, 2012 at about 6:45 a.m. at Gemini Food Mart, 3000 46th Avenue.

Police said the suspect asked the store clerk for change.  When the clerk opened the cash register, the suspect reportedly grabbed the drawer and ran.

The clerk grabbed some of the cash back from the suspect.  It was estimated that the suspect got away with less than $100.

No one was hurt.
