Iowa couple wins Powerball jackpot

The Iowa Lottery revealed the winners of a $202.1 million Powerball jackpot Thursday morning.

The Iowa Lottery revealed the winners of a $202.1 million Powerball jackpot Thursday morning, October 4, 2012.

The winning ticket for last week’s jackpot was bought by Mary and Brian Lohse at a Bondurant Casey’s General Store. The Iowa Lottery says the Lohse’s ticket has been verified at lottery headquarters.

Mary is a certified medical assistant at the pediatric clinic at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines and Brian is an attorney for EMC Insurance. They have three children.

“We have a plan to help our church and our community and the school,” says Brian. “We’re going to set up different structures to do that, financial structures to be able to do that. And of course our kids and ourselves – we want to make sure the kids are taken care of, so that we don’t necessarily have to work 40 hours a week the rest of our lives.”

The jackpot is the second largest ever claimed in Iowa.
