A woman reported at attempted carjacking at the Wells Fargo branch in Rock Island on Wednesday, October 3, 2012.

A woman’s purse was reportedly taken by someone who snatched it from her as she sat in a car parked outside a bank in Rock Island.

The victim told police she was sitting in her green Toyota outside the Wells Fargo Bank at 1800 30th Street just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012. 

That’s when someone reached into the front passenger seat, took the her purse and ran from the car.  The victim and her dog were left unharmed in the car.

Police said they found the woman’s wallet near 18th Avenue and 25th Street.  The purse was not found. 

The suspect was described as wearing all black clothing and a possibly a scarf on his or her head.  Police said it was unclear whether the suspect was armed.
