The Chicago Teacher's Union could ratify that teacher contract today.

Last month, teachers went on strike for nine days until a deal could be hammered out between the teacher's union and the city.

The two were at odds over pension and teacher evaluations.

Chicago teachers are among the highest paid in the country.


More Iowa schools are missing No Child Left Behind targets in reading and math.

The 2012 State Report Card was released last week.

It includes state testing results, attendance rates, graduation rates and teacher qualifications.

It also highlights schools and districts in need of assistance.

In February, the state applied for a waiver to No Child Left Behind, but the U.S. Department of Education denied the request, saying the state needed to change how it ranks teachers.
