MidAmerican will hold a private meeting with 40 landowners Tuesday night in Wilton, Iowa to determine if Muscatine County will be the new site to a potentially 3 billion dollar nuclear plant.

A similar meeting was held in Fremont County on Friday.  The meetings mark the first public acknowledgment that the two sites are finalist and no other sites are being considered at this time.

According to the Des Moines Register, residents that attended the meeting in Fremont County, which is in the very south-west corner of Iowa were informed the company is liking going to be arranging for soil samples on private land and conducting various surveys.

MidAmerican has not confirmed if the plant would be nuclear or natural gas.  They have also yet to announce the specific location they are eying in Muscatine County.  They just say nothing is set in stone.
