Firefighters battled a house fire in LeClaire, Iowa on Sunday, September 23rd.

Officials say smoke detectors got everyone out safely from the house off Territorial Road. Bettendorf and Princeton Fire responded with additional water and manpower, due to the rural location. Two adults and their dog will hopefully be able to return home soon, since most of the damage was in the attic.

"The damage to the house is very minimal," says Mark Slagle, LeClaire Fire Chief. "We got a good attack, quick knockdown on it. We did have to open up the roof, but that's common in house fires."

Chief Slagle says the cause of the fire is unknown and this time and is still under investigation.
