The Habitat for Humanity will be celebrating the opening of their new health and home division in the Habitat Restore Quad Cities. The new division accepts gently used medical equipment for resale. The items will be cleaned and assessed before resold.
The new health and home division is in addition to a new office space as well as a new warehouse. The new office space gives Habitat for Humanity the opportunity to accept interns and AmeriCorps volunteers due to the extra space. The new warehouse, which has been open for the past year makes it much easier for Habitat for Humanity to accept large, in-kind donations. Making even truckloads of materials something the local nonprofit can now accept.
The additional resources will allow the organization to expand its building capacity in our community and increase its efficiency.
The ribbon cutting and open house will be Tuesday, September 18th from 3 pm to 6 pm and the public is invited to attend.
