Police said a Davenport woman was at the wheel of a car that left the scene after it crashed into a school bus.

The wreck happened just before 8 a.m. at Clark Street and Heatherton Drive in Davenport.  The bus was on its way to Buchanan Elementary when it was reportedly struck by a car that allegedly left the scene before police arrived.

Police said they found the car later that same day, parked behind 1212 West Third Street.  They impounded the car and then found the driver.  Police say she is 30-year-old Jennifer Ratcliff.

Ratcliff is accused of rolling through a stop sign as she made a right turn from eastbound Heatherton Drive to southbound Clark Street.   Her car allegedly struck the driver’s side front tire of the school bus.

Ratcliff is charged with failing to control her vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while license denied or revoked and no insurance.  All four charges are misdemeanors.

Ratcliff was in the Scott County Jail for less than a half-hour before she posted $1,900 bond and was released.
