A California company is voluntarily recalling cantaloupe sold to retailers in Illinois and 20 other states because the melons could be contaminated with Salmonella.

Routine USDA testing found Salmonella in a sample of cantaloupe distributed by DFI Marketing Inc. of Fresno, California.

“The company is voluntarily recalling this product out of an abundance of caution and no illnesses have been reported,” said a statement on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website.
