The body of a woman reported missing from Peoria, Illinois was reportedly found in a combine in a corn field in Edelstein.

Tashyra McDowell, 24, was last seen Friday when she retrieved mail from her mother’s home.

The Peoria Journal Star reports McDowell’s seven-year-old autistic son was found alone and unattended at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 in the 1800 block of North New York Avenue in Peoria.   His autism prevented him from telling police whether he knows what happened to his mother.   The boy was safe and in his grandmother’s care.

McDowell’s car was found just before 5 p.m. that same day in the 400 block of Richard Pryor Place.

A farmer found McDowell’s body stuck in his combine when he was harvesting corn at about noon Tuesday, September 11.

An autopsy was scheduled for McDowell’s body.
