Man accused of Orion car burglaries

Police say they think one man burglarized eight vehicles in Orion over Labor Day weekend.

Jareth Goderis, 18, of Aledo, Illinois is accused of breaking into and taking items from eight vehicles in Orion between September 3 and September 6, 2012.  The missing items reportedly include golf clubs, a GPS unit, electronics including a television, tools and a medical bag with medical instruments inside. 

Goderis faces eight felony counts of burglary, four felony counts of theft of items valued between $500 and $10,000 and three misdemeanor counts of theft of items valued at less than $500. 

Court records show Goderis was appointed a public defender at his initial appearance in Henry County Court Wednesday, September 12.   He was next scheduled to appear in court September 17.  

Goderis was held in the Henry County Jail in lieu of $50,000.
