UPDATE: Port Byron lifts boil order

UPDATE:  Port Byron city officials say the boil order put in place Wednesday, September 12, 2012 was lifted Friday, September 14.

Original story September 12:

Part of the Village of Port Byron, Illinois was placed under a boil water order Wednesday, September 12, 2012.

Residents from 400 South Main to 900 South Main were advised to boil all water used for cooking or drinking for at least five minutes before use. 

The boil order was in effect until further notice.
