Morrison, Illinois High School was evacuated at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 as a precaution after an unsubstantiated bomb threat.

The school was evacuated and closed according to an emergency response plan already in place within the district.

Superintendent Suellen Girard tweeted, “Morrison HS received a bomb threat today. The building has been cleared by law enforcement and school personnel. Classes are resuming,” just after 1 p.m.

Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton said no evidence was found to legitimize the threat.  He withheld most details about the incident, saying his department was continuing to investigate the threat.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Morrison Police at (815) 772-7659.
