More than 130 citations were issued and more than 20 people arrested at the Iowa-Iowa State game Saturday, September 8, 2012.

More than 130 citations were issued and more than 20 people arrested at the Iowa-Iowa State game Saturday, September 8, 2012.

A spokesman for University of Iowa Police said they issued 117 citations for open container in public.  They also issued 22 citations for possession of alcohol under the legal age (PAULA) and one citation for open container in a motor vehicle.

Twenty-one arrests were made on game day, and 15 people were transported to jail.  Most of the arrests were for public intoxication.  Police said most of those arrested were given a preliminary breath test prior to their arrest.   One of the people arrested allegedly blew .274 and six of the people arrested reportedly had over a .210 blood alcohol in preliminary breath tests. 

One of the people arrested is a 25-year-old Davenport woman who allegedly walked away from an officer as he was issuing her a ticket for having an open container. 

One arrest for operating while intoxicated was made at a vehicle safety checkpoint.
