A 22-year-old man is in federal custody tonight after investigators say he threatened to blow up Davenport's NorthPark Mall.

According to the criminal complaint, Adylbek Kozubaev, a man with ties to Chicago and Janesville, Wisconsin, made several calls to the mall's business office Wednesday to try and negotiate a rental price for a stand to sell cashmere scarves in the Quad Cities ahead of the holiday season.

He called several minutes later, according to the complaint, and told a mall representative "to clear out the mall in 10 minutes or it is going to blow."

After hanging up, he called again and said he was "very (expletive) serious" and that everyone needed to get out of the building, saying "get the (expletive) out or it was going to blow,” according to the complaint.

Federal agents arrested him in Streamwood, Illinois on Friday morning.

He has a status hearing set for next week and will remain in federal custody until then.
