A Davenport man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to drug charges in federal court.

A Davenport man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to drug charges in federal court.

Alon Shorter, 37, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine base. 

Investigators said they made several undercover buys of crack cocaine from people who got the drugs from Alon and Dale Shorter. 

Alon Shorter, Dale Shorter and five other people were accused of distributing more than 2.8 kilograms of crack cocaine from October 2007 to June 2011.  Several men are awaiting sentencing after they pleaded guilty to distributing crack cocaine for Alon Shorter at several Davenport locations, including an apartment on Heatherton Drive.

Alon Shorter was also sentenced to serve five y ears of supervised release following his prison term and to pay $100 to the Crime Victims Fund.
