Police: Man grabbed clerk’s throat and stole necklace

A surveillance camera captured images of a man who allegedly stole a necklace after he grabbed a convenience store clerk by the neck.

It happened at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Phillips 66 Mini Mart, 4149 Seventh Street in East Moline, Illinois.

A man wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants and a black baseball hat with the word “Chicago” on it reportedly “grabbed the throat of the store clerk and stole a gold necklace” according to East Moline Police.

Police described the suspect as African-American, 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall with a medium build.
