The President's Challenger, Mitt Romney is in the Quad Cities today. The Republican Presidential Candidate is speaking at LeClaire Manufacturing in Bettendorf on Wednesday, August 22nd.

More than 500 people packed one of the company's warehouses Wednesday morning. Romney is scheduled to speak at 12:35pm.

LeClaire Manufacturing is an aluminum foundry operated and owned by two brother, Ralph and Rob Zimmerman, who have 160 employees and have been in the Quad Cities since 1966.

Romney is expected to use the business as an example of how a company can succeed using a "smaller" government as well as talk about the importance of entrepreneurship.

Brad Zust, Sales Director with LeClaire Manufacturing, says the visit is good for business, too.

"As a Sales Executive, it's one of those things that I could have never expected to get this kind of advertising for the company," says Zust. "Our website has already been overwhelmed with inquiries and people wanting to know who we are so it's exciting that people have recognized that we're a player in this area and it's nice to have someone like Mitt Romney come and recognize us."

News 8's Angie Mitchum also spoke with Scott County Republican Chairwoman, Judy Davidson, about Romney's visit to Iowa - a battleground state - and Scott County - a battleground area in itself. You can watch the interview by clicking the video below.
