Iowa missing girl’s mother hospitalized
The mother of one of the eastern Iowa girls who disappeared from Evansdale in July has been hospitalized.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier is reporting that 34-year-old Misty Morrissey was admitted to Allen Hospital Monday night.
Morrissey’s daughter, 10-year-old Lyric Cook, hasn’t been seen since July 13th when she and her 9-year-old cousin Elizabeth Collins vanished from Evansdale. The girls’ bikes were found near Meyers Lake, along with a few personal items. Following a search of the lake, investigators said they believed the girls were abducted.
A police report says Misty Morrissey was found unresponsive at a relative’s home. The report says she had been heavily medicated while at the hospital earlier in the day and then drank alcohol.
