With the drought doing a number on area crops, one could help famers.
In Galesburg on Monday, there will be an informational meeting on the Pennycress crop.
It’s hosted by the EBI Network, which says the cover crop can increase soybean fields and be an additional source of income from a new biodiesel feedstock.
They say the free crop could also produce jobs, with positions added for a crushing plant and transporting the seed and oil.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Knox County Farm Bureau.
