For the second year in a row, tragedy struck the Indiana State Fair.

This time a stagecoach flipped before the eight-horse hitch competition at the fairgrounds Sunday, August 12, 2012.

Witnesses said the stagecoach was moving in a figure-eight  and overturned in the second turn of the formation.

WXIN reports the driver and Indiana State Fair Queen Erika Burghardt  were thrown from their seats atop the stagecoach.

Burghardt and the four people inside the stagecoach were injured.  All five were taken to area hospitals.  Their injuries were reportedly minor.

The horses pulling the stagecoach were not hurt.

The coliseum venue for the stagecoach competition was evacuated.  The competition restarted about an hour and a half after the crash.

Seven people were killed and nearly 60 hurt when a stage collapsed just before a Sugarland concert at the 2011 Indiana State Fair.
