The winner of Tug Fest 2012 was Illinois six to five.
Both teams from Port Byron, IL and LeClaire, IA tried to pull their way to victory Saturday along the banks of the Mississippi River.
This year, they were dealing with a much lower than normal river.
Participants say it’s a great excuse to come together.
“My aunts do it, my cousins do it,” said Angie Dierikx. “It’s fun to have everybody together and whoop some Iowa butt.”
Historically, Illiinois has won the LeClaire versus Port Byron matchup.
