It’s been one month since two eastern Iowa cousins disappeared from Evansdale and investigators still don’t know who took the girls.

Nine-year-old Elizabeth Collins and 10-year-old Lyric Cook have been missing since July 13th, when their bikes were discovered near Meyers Lake. The lake was drained during the search for the girls and when no bodies were found investigators said they believed the girls were abducted.

Meyers Lake has remained a popular place for those wishing to express their support in the search for the girls. Friday night, a vigil is being held at the lake. There will be a group prayer and large group walk at 7:00 p.m.

Efforts to keep the girls’ abduction visible continue with a display at the Division of Criminal Investigation booth at the Iowa State Fair. It is located in the Hall of Law and has missing posters and an anonymous tip box for anyone who may have information on the case.
