Two 13-year-old boys face criminal charges after fire broke out at an elementary school in Burlington, Iowa.

The fire was reported just after 9 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Corse Elementary School, 700 South Starr Street.  The fire damaged the roof and smoke filled hallways of the building.  Damage was estimated at less than $10,000.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire was suspicious.

At about 5 p.m. Monday, August 6, two 13-year-old boys were arrested in connection with the fire.  The boys were each charged with one felony count of second-degree arson.  The boys were held at the Lee County Juvenile Detention Center pending an appearance in court.
