“Greatness” ad draws cheers and jeers

A new ad for Nike that shows an overweight pre-teen running has some congratulating the kid and some condemning the company for exploiting him. 

The ad says, “Greatness is not beyond his reach, nor is it for any of us.”

Supporters say 12-year-old Nathan, the kid featured in the ad, is a champion and hail the ad as genius. 

Critics say the ad exploits Nathan’s physique, that the ad implies exercising alone makes him great or that the exertion he’s experiencing in the ad could be dangerous to his health.
