WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. House is going home without taking action on the 2012 Farm Bill.
The House did approve a scaled-down $383-million dollar package to help livestock farmers with losses and feed costs due to the drought. That passed along party lines in the Republican-controlled House.
The bill didn't got far.
The Democratic-controlled U.S. Senate decided not to consider the bill before it took its break for the month.
It comes down to Republicans pushing for an immediate drought-related bill and Democrats pushing for a broader Farm Bill approval.
Lawmakers head back to Congress next month.
