Crews will close various lanes of Interstate 74 between Second and Seventh avenues in Moline, Illinois during nighttime hours starting Thursday, July 26, 2012.
The lane closures will give workers the room they need to clean the bridges on that stretch of the highway.
Lane closures will only happen between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. to minimize the impact on traffic.
Since visibility is limited during overnight hours, Illinois Department of Transportation officials are asking drivers to be especially alert and cautious when driving through the work area for this project.
In addition to working on the highway, crews will work in the parking areas and streets below the bridges as part of the project.
This bridge washing project is expected to be completed by August 11, 2012.
