Police are investigating a shooting that happened at the 1100 Block of 18TH ½ Ave. at about 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

One victim was taken to Trinity West in Rock Island with non life-threatening injuries.

Police confirm an officer is alleged to have shot the person in the hospital.  Chief Scott Harrison told News 8 that two Rock Island officers were attempting to take the suspect in custody on a 'failure to appear' warrant when he ran from police.  The police say the suspect pointed a gun at them, that's when police shot the suspect.

No one else was injured in the shooting but neighbor and mother of two, Stephanie Lee says it was too close to home.

"What if one of those bullets would have went astray or what if they would have had a gun shot battle and it would have hit my kids," Lee says. "I'm really mad."

Rock Island County Integrity Task Force and the Illinois State Police are investigating the scene
