A woman caught on tape in an act of road rage last month copped a plea deal in Rock Island County Friday.

Court records show Maralee West pleaded guilty to one count of felony aggravated battery and was sentenced to 24 months probation and 180 days in jail.

However, she was given credit for time served, and the rest of the sentenced ”stayed”, which means she won’t serve any more jail time.  She was released.

West took a baseball bat and hit the arm of another driver and his car after a near miss between two automobiles in the parking lot of the IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union in Silvis, Illinois.

It started with a war of words and escalated into physical contact.

Matt Harris, a bystander at the bank and a war veteran, fired up his phone and recorded part of the confrontation on his cell phone.

West has three prior misdemeanor battery convictions and is on the Sex Offender Registry for a relationship with a 16-year-old when she was 22 years old.
