A water main break covered the road in mud and made Lincoln Street impassible in Davenport.
The break happened Thursday morning, July 19, 2012.
Lincoln was closed between Central Park and Dover Street because the pavement was covered with mud.
After the mud was cleared, lane restrictions continued until the broken water main was repaired.
While the repairs were being completed on Lincoln, a valve reportedly broke on a water main nearby on Central Park, causing lane restrictions there as well. Westbound Central Park was closed. Two-way traffic was still getting by, using the eastbound lanes to carry one lane of traffic for each direction of travel.
