The death of a 79-year-old Amboy, Illinois man is being investigated as a homicide.
Delmar Leroy Daniels’ body was found in his home at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012. A relative who hadn’t seen Daniels in at least a day became concerned and found the body when he stopped by the house.
Lee County Coroner Jesser Partington said cuts to his face were the only significant injuries visible on Mr. Daniels. His body was found between the kitchen and hallway of the home. There was broken glass at the scene but Sheriff John Varga said he didn’t see any broken windows in the home.
Daniels’ wife was reportedly found in the home, pressed against a wall near her husband’s body so she couldn’t move. She suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
An autopsy for Mr. Daniels was scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
