A walk-on member of the University of Iowa football team faces a theft charge after he allegedly changed the price tag on a shirt in a department store.

KCRG reports Marcus Binns, 21, is accused of changing the price tag on a shirt at the Dillard’s store at Coral Ridge Mall.  A security officer reportedly saw Binns switch the price tags between two shirts, changing one from $75 to $17.32.

Binns was reportedly confronted after purchasing the shirt Friday, July 13 just before 6:30 p.m.

Binns was not arrested.  He was cited and released, with a court date of August 1, 2012.

HawkeyeSports.com says Marcus Binns did not see any game action in 2011.   Marcus is the younger brother of defensive end Broderick Binns.
