Good Monday morning, everyone! Chief meteorologist James Zahara here with your Storm Team 8 Forecast.
Higher heat and humidity return to start off the work week with temperatures well into the 90s possibly reaching 100 degrees for local towns more south of the Quad Cities. Despite the passage of a warm front any lift along it to pop a shower or thunderstorm is expected to be slim at best. After lows drop in the 70s tonight comes another hot day with highs once again near 100 degrees.
An approaching weak front from the Plains will slip by the area that night and stall just to our south bringing the chance for showers and thunderstorms. However, with the lack of upper air support the chance for any rainfall not only appears small but mainly for the northern half of the area. The chances will then shift more south later Wednesday into Thursday before the front moves out of the area warming readings once again into the 90s for afternoon highs.
