A 28-year-old Moline man faces possible prison time after being found guilty of attempting to murder his wife.

Halter Lee Glass III was charged July 8, 2011 with six counts including domestic battery, unlawful restraint, attempted murder and three sexual assault charges.  The charges followed Glass’ arrest for a separate domestic violence incident the previous month.

Glass and the victim were still married when he reportedly attacked her July 7, 2011.  They have since divorced.

Glass was accused of striking and choking the victim and threatening her life.     

Glass testified at his July 12, 2012 trial.  It took the jury a little more than two hours to return with a verdict that afternoon.

Court records show Glass was found guilty of aggravated domestic battery/strangulation, unlawful restraint and attempted murder.  Court records show he was found not guilty of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault. 

Sentencing had yet to be scheduled.  Glass was held in the Rock Island County Jail.
