The Warren County, Illinois Sheriff says a deputy was forced to kill at dog when the animal chased and attacked him.
The deputy was on duty and dispatched to a house on south Main Street in Roseville, Illinois at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012.
“The Deputy was met at the door of the residence by a Pit Bull dog, which chased and attacked the Deputy into the street,” said Sheriff Martin Edwards. “The Deputy was forced to destroy the animal.”
Sheriff Edwards said Larry Easton, 53, was arrested for domestic battery at the scene. Easton was held in the Warren County Jail.
The deputy was treated for his injuries and released from a Monmouth hospital. He is expected to be able to resume his usual duties.
