Anyone looking for a lost or missing cat may be in luck.

According to the Humane Society of Scott County, animal control officers seized 28 cats and kittens from a Bettendorf home on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. A turtle and hamster were also taken into custody.

A spokesperson for the Scott County Humane Society said they think the man living in the home had taken in the animals as strays he found in the Iowa and Illinois Quad Cities.

Only one of the animals seized had an identifying microchip to help find the previous owner.
